Drop-In Science Hour
Tuesdays 10:30–11:30
Explorations vary week to week. To include Lego Robotics, Circuits, Sound, Building. Ages 5+.
Sewing
Tuesdays 2:00-3:30
Ages 6-11 Weeks 1-3
Ages 12-Adult Weeks 4-6
Preregistration is required for weeks utilizing the machines. Class max of 6.
First week learn the basics of hand sewing, moving on in Weeks 2 and 3 to learning on our Brother sewing machines.
Week one drop in available for hand sewing, but machine sewing on Weeks 2&3 are limited to the first 6 registrants. Call 575-377-6755 or email director@shuteribrary.net to register.
Preschool Storytime
Wednesdays 10:30–11:30
Stories and crafts/activities geared towards preschoolers, but all ages welcome!
Hands On STEAM
Wednesdays 10:30–11:30
While the little ones get a storytime, older siblings and school age kids can explore some hand's on learning activities from Paper Takes Flight to Marble Maze Races. Ages 5+ welcome!
3D Printing Classes
Wednesdays 2:00-3:00
Learn the basics of how 3D printers work, become familiar with the Shuter STEAM Lab set up, design in TinkerCad and more! Ages 6+, adults are welcome!
Open Lab
Tuesdays 11:30–1:00
Wednesdays 11:30–1:00
Thursdays 3:00–4:00
Each STEAM activity will be followed by 60–90 minutes of Open Lab time. Ask our Lab Monitor questions, continue your projects, or try something new. Come explore!

Minecraft Coding

Turn playtime into learning with our 5-week Minecraft Coding Series! Participants will explore the basics of computer programming by creating and controlling actions in Minecraft using beginner-friendly block coding. Along the way, they'll solve challenges, build problem-solving skills, and discover how coding powers the games they love. No prior coding experience is required—just curiosity and a love of Minecraft!
Perfect for beginners interested in technology, creativity, and game design.
