Our History
Angel Fire Community Library was organized in 1978 in a back room of the Angel Fire Country Club by seven devoted local women. Over the next few years, in order to get our own library building, determined community members did extensive planning and fundraising. Angel Fire Resort donated the land to build the library and Shuter Construction built the building at cost. Countless volunteers donated time, energy, and money to get the library up and running. In July 2002, the brand new 3,000-square-foot Shuter Library of Angel opened to the public.
Today, library patrons have access to more than 12,000 print and audio books as well as down-loadable ebooks and audio books.
The library offers the use of four public computers and free WiFi. We also offer low-cost photocopying and scanning. Gently used books, audio books, puzzles, DVDs, and other media are on sale in the library at all times. We host book clubs, author talks, children's reading programs, and more. We invite you to stop by and visit.
