Shuter Library is an independent, incorporated and registered 501(c)(3) organization. Shuter Library is a private library that operates as a public library, meaning it is not funded through municipal taxes but provides free services to the community. Instead, most of our revenue comes from donations, grants and volunteer fund-raising efforts.
Shuter Library of Angel Fire is the wonderful success it is today thanks to the bigheartedness of our loyal patrons, thousands of hours of fund-raising and volunteer efforts, and the generosity of community and local merchants.
Due to this generous support of the local community, Shuter Library offers many services to the Village of Angel Fire and the Moreno Valley. Library card members have access to over 12,000 print and audio books as well as downloadable eBooks and audio books.
The library offers the use of six public computers and free Wi-Fi. We offer affordable photocopying, and printing as well as free scanning.
Gently used books, audiobooks, puzzles, DVDs and other media are continuously for sale at the library in addition to two annual large sales held in the winter and the summer.
For children, we host kids' game nights and our popular annual summer reading program. The library is also a sign up location for the Imagination Library, an organization devoted to getting books into the homes of children ages 0-5. There is an AWE learning tablet available for checkout as well.
We have a Kindle Device lending program, and classes to familiarize community members with digital readers. Computer and technology classes are taught by local professionals throughout the summer.
Shuter Library hosts a monthly adult book club hosted by members of the community. The Moreno Valley is also home to several local authors who regularly visit the library for author talks and book signings.
We hope you have a chance to visit the Shuter Library while in you're in Angel Fire!
